Rima Nishina is a recently graduated fashion pattern cutter and a designer based in Tokyo, Japan.

Until Summer 2019, when Rima was pursuing her BA in Fashion pattern cutting course at London college of fashion. Thoughout her study at the college, she realised how patterns affect fashion importantly, and had always been focused on the creative way of making patterns.

For example, for her graduation collection, she firstly digitized a worn mens suit jacket found in a second-hand shop with a digitizer, and started to deassembling it to trace the pieces. Rima also explored various different techniques such as dying, layering, reconstructing and painting; giving the garments a new lease of life. Her collection also used fabric, silhouette and colour to explore the new idea of sexuality and gender images.
