Rongdi Ma is a knitwear designer with an academic background in fashion and textile design. She is pursuing MA Knitted Textile Design at the Royal College of Art. Her projects always involve a wide range of fields from philosophy, religion and culture to nature and information experience.

The experimentation on colour and material play an important role in her thinking and making process. As a knitwear designer, she always focusses on the character of knit to explore more new possibilities of knit, as well as the technical innovation.

Her current interest has fallen on the culture and historical context of the psychedelic movement during the late 1960s, related to the counterculture and youth culture. Her collection aims to use different composition of colour and texture, as well as the experimentation on materials, to observe unconscious psychedelic experience, while exploring the relationship between surrealism and fantasy.
