Sarish Alam is a trendy yet bold womenswear designer based in Birmingham. She has always been passionate about fashion and design from a young age and loved designing. This led her to study GCSE textiles, where she won 1st prize in Young Persons Award for Design and Craftsmanship awarded by The Rotary Club of Birmingham. The piece that won her the award was a skillfully designed and sewn Moroccan caftan.
This made her more adamant to pursue fashion design. Throughout her A-level Art and Design she continued with creating fashion projects and garments building her portfolio. Her final major fashion project at Birmingham City University has been featured at Graduate Fashion Week 2019, inspired by fashion icons David Bowie and Princess Diana, bows, The Care Bears and Yayoi Kusama. She has broadened her experience and her style of fashion looking into different subcultures to re-fashion old fashions into new modern designs which is something she enjoys to do.
