Sophie Bailey is a modern, up and coming designer with a fresh approach to Menswear, featuring a strong aesthetic consisting of textiles and print application.
Her latest collection perfectly epitomised her aesthetic by looking to the everyday and hoarding to create an impactful, cohesive collection of pieces featuring vinyl graphics, new fabrication techniques and hardware detailing. With a tone on tone colour palette throughout the collection it created a sophisticated and matured aesthetic, developed throughout her MA course at Kingston University.
Pops of colour came through the garments being emblazoned with graphics such as ‘Throwaway Society’ and ‘This Is All a Waste’, a reflection of the overall concept along with highlighting the importance of change within the fashion industry along with the use of cable ties and zippers meaning the pieces can be worn in a variety of different ways, making them much more sustainable - it all comes back to the initial inspiration of hoarding and the contrasts between hoarding and throwing things away.
Each piece defines luxury menswear with a youthful twist and overall creates an eclectic collection of statement menswear pieces.
