Ziyu Yi is a menswear designer who graduated from the London College of Fashion in 2018. He enjoys studying the history of European men's fashion. My collection is inspired by specific silhouettes of menswear that were popular in different periods of time. His design focuses on the development and changes within pattern cutting, as a skill.
For his graduate collect project, the concept arose from Picasso’s work and the blind area of human eyes, which connects with the study of ophthalmology.
Therefore, the concept and design methodology for this research is developed through the theory of ophthalmology.
Based on the research of Picasso's cubist period, he tried to understand and analyse the methodology, as well as the methodology Alina Szapocznikow’s ‘The Human Landscape’. Do not look at things from the same point of view, but try to observe and understand things from different points of view.
